For my first review, I've chosen a peculiar "album": the classics of Mister Hankey! Who is Mister Hankey??? Mister Hankey is that friendly piece of feces that appears, or rather, used to appear, in the Christmas episodes of South Park.
But let's move on to the actual album. In "The Classics of Mister Hankey," there are plenty of HITS taken directly from the cartoon. The opening track is the solid (in terms of song) "Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo," with a catchy chorus:
Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo
He loves me, I love you
Therefore, vicariously he loves you!
I can make a Mr. Hankey too!
All the songs are entertaining, especially the one entrusted to Eric Cartman's vocal cords, "Holy Night." Who hasn't felt a shiver down their spine during his falsetto over the angelic choir?
Definitely worth mentioning is "Dreidel Dreidel Dreidel," a typical Jewish song performed by "The Broflofskis," Kyle's family, where there's an unexpected featuring with the more experienced Cartman singing the memorable:
Jews.....play stupid games.
Jews, that's why they're lame.
Jews.....play stupid games.
Jews, that's why they're lame.
Surely, listening to the album, the various Christmas classics will be easily memorable, and that makes this album an album of immediate listening.
Even though the season isn't quite ideal for listening to Christmas songs, I recommend the album at least to fans of the series. Others might want to listen to a few songs on YouTube first and then decide if it's worth purchasing.
