A series of "astonishingly" favorable coincidences lead me to a milestone event evening, if only so due to the difficulty of bringing together on stage eight sacred monsters (someone might say Dinosaurs) of global Rock.

But let's go in order: the article appears on the Nuova Sardegna on the first of September, just a few days to organize, the concert will take place just three days later!

I scroll through the numbers on my cell phone, no one can or wants to end up in Assemini, because the event is semi-private (organized by the patron of Cagliari, in the club house of the "Ercole Cellino" center) and the available places are 1500-2000 at most. After numerous attempts, Deus Gratia, someone is equipped with a pass, but doesn't have a car or company: baby, you've found the car, the chauffeur, and the company, happy?

Massimo Cellino is not new to these evenings: last year he hosted Chic and Roger Glover, this year, however, he dared..."where eagles dare": Ian Paice drummer of Deep Purple, Michael Schenker guitarist of Scorpions, Kee Marcello guitarist of Europe, Chris Slade drummer of AC/DC, Doogie White voice of Rainbow, Ken Hensley keyboardist of Uriah Heep, Neil Murray bassist of Whitesnake, and Don Airey keyboardist of Deep Purple. Also to be remembered, Massimo Varini, excellent acoustic guitar.

All together they scare you and you think that maybe it could be too much and unlikely, but you're wrong; when you get under the stage, you start to believe it, and when the show begins... I have no words to describe: a triumph of Fender, Gibson, and Stratocaster, absolutely stratospheric guitar and drum solos succeed each other, the voices are... as you expect them to be.

I think I laughed, I cried, I danced, I jumped, and I don't know how many other things I did (all legal!): music for almost three hours, they had never played all together before, but except for some small and inevitable slip-up, everything went wonderfully well. These gentlemen with white hair and a bit of a belly, aged between 66 and 51 years, have not lost their technical skill, nor creativity, and above all, they have not lost the desire to make music at the highest levels possible.

Close your eyes and imagine listening to the best of each individual group, all in one evening... at this point, I would be tempted to ask: how much is envy quoted in the DeBaser-Stock?
