LA RECENSIONE

There is no question that sculpture is the seventh most important art.

It is more complicated to create a sculpture than a two-dimensional painting, the most complete and complex of the noble arts.

This magnificent sculpture was discovered underground near the Colosseum around 1500 and was an extraordinary find, immediately purchased by Pope Julius II and served as inspiration for various artists.

The dynamism and complexity of this work will make it an example where artistic canons will be influenced in the years to come. Just observe this sculpture to see and feel various similarities throughout the entire future artistic movement.

Even the great Michelangelo admired this masterpiece, understanding before anyone else that the detached and missing arm of the Laocoön was bent upon itself.

The sculpture illustrates Laocoön, son of sacred Troy, who, along with his sons, is attacked by a group of serpents.

What can I say, no strong words are needed, just observe and remain in awe of the plasticity and harmony of the most famous marble artifact.
