The world of Italian independent rock music is ready for a seismic shake-up?
Judging by the excitement you feel listening to this compilation INDIEgnata, you would say yes. Seven Lombard bands for seven tracks that ooze anger, energy, and originality with every groove, a group of people who came together for a common goal, but not "common": to bring the independent rock scene out of the kind of ghettoization that someone is trying to confine it in, a cry to make their presence felt and to finally give space and visibility to bands with vast experiences that, until now, have not had the chance to be heard on larger levels.
In short, to make their music reach ears that, despite wanting to, have not yet had the opportunity to listen to them. It is with this spirit that this compilation was released, which is also available for free download from Audioglobe and from Rockit. The bands that collaborated are all from the Lombard area, from Noise From Underground with a piece, "Cosa mi fa male", that incredibly starts with a ska rhythm and then intersects with a very angry cross-guitar chorus, in short, a sort of crossover between ska and noise that definitely makes its nice effect, to Jerrinez with a text almost obsessively curated, "Glamour", with a series of very interesting guitar explosions. La Stasi present a ballad of great emotional impact, great instrumental mastery, and a very touching piece ("Il morto allegro"). The piece by Hangover is a bit different from their usual, with an odd time signature on drums, lighter guitars than usual but very sharp, no presence of any chorus, with a sing-song and "infernal" vocal style ("Nuova insonnia").
"Ocra" by ZiDima is perhaps my favorite piece, with great intertwining of dissonant guitars. Vintage Violence, from Lecco, are very young, between 22 and 25 years old, and have remarkable instrumental mastery for their age, and the piece they propose, "Quanto fa male pugnalarsi in gola" is a piece that characterizes them from the start, perhaps the most "accessible" track of the compilation, with an absolutely beautiful guitar entrance. Finally, Stardog, with the track that titles the compilation, "Cadaveri", another track with aggressive guitars and vocals.
In addition to being available for free download, this compilation will soon be on sale at the symbolic price of 1 euro, as you can see the purpose of the operation is not at all lucrative, but purely for dissemination.
