58th Sanremo Festival
(Italian song festival)
This year Sanremo was a flop, Sanremo is mostly about the songs, but this year the "Chiambrettite," at times a bit invasive, was overall brilliant and effective and lifted a very mediocre Festival, with terrible songs.... Great performers like Mario Venuti and Cammariere did not shine as usual, others preferred to raise their voices instead of silently reflecting on their own weak songs: the Tiromancino, good lyrics but that's it, Frankie hi nrg Mc, a missed opportunity.. As for the others, Tatangelo came second and said "I love you" to her Giggi amid boos, the song was so-so. Fabrizio Moro, who moved me last year, should have stayed home this year (even though he came third), Max Gazzè, a disappointment.. then there were THE SOLIDARIETA'S: Cutugno, Lyttle Tony and Bertè (excluded for plagiarism) did better than the others, despite being worn out they outdid the likes of Meneguzzi, Grignani, etc.
A separate chapter for Finley, one for Tricarico, for L'Aura, the winners and for the "tamarroni" Frank Head. Finley: disastrous all three of their performances, countless off-key notes, technical problems my foot (a band with one merit only, which is to get Tokio Hotel out of the heads of Italian teenagers.) They were the flag bearers of young Italians at Sanremo 08 and at ROCK AM RING, yes you heard right, after Sanremo everyone will understand what Finley is, and Chiambretti's question about the inspiration for the title of their piece "Ricordi" will be a prophecy for their career, just a memory. L'Aura, I like her, not so much her Sanremo piece but I like her, her Demian was a good album, and bringing Rezophonic - Andy (Bluvertigo) on sax, Mario Riso on drums, Marco Trentacoste; (now fixed with Le Vibrazioni) on guitars, the former bass player of Le Vibrazioni, and hear this: CRISTINA SCABBIA (Lacuna Coil) and a jaded Marco "fricchettone" Cocci (Malfunk) on vocals, to the duet night was great. Tricarico: the only light at Sanremo, great piece, great character always calm and gentle, great performance, and Elio (Elio e le storie tese) is right: "he shines on screen," I’ll buy the album soon. Tricarico is the only one with a perfect 10. It's known in Italy that - those who are talented must go to hell, so for two out of three times he performs last (the first time he said it was very bad - the second he kindly called Chiambretti & Co. jerks, understandable) the only star this year deserves praise, almost the heir of Sergio Endrigo, well-deserved Mia Martini Award. The Frank Head: "Pa pa pi rirri papappa pa rara" or something like that, good song, a score of 8, but the average between their "spaghetti Gogol Bordello" and their style is harmful, and they have an attitude problem, and they gave a push to the commendable (musically and for their commitment) Sonohra when accepting their award... Winners of Sanremo Giovani.... Giò di Tonno and Lola Ponce, won Sanremo, who cares, exactly.... two great theater actors in Notre Dame de Paris (Riccardo Cocciante's myth) with a super piece by Gianna Nannini, they won, a ten for Nannini, an absent for the duo.
AAA two remarks: Dopofestival - very entertaining and at times almost perfect, nice nice nice... but be ready: Baudo didn't know who Ben Harper was (Jovanotti had to tell him).
The quality jury last year scandalous this year was even worse, no one and I say No One except for Mariolina from TMC2 (years ago) and Boncompagni knew anything about Music: the rest featured Mughini, Fede, Magalli and Frizzi....
Artistic Commission for the next year take note: Baustelle, A Toys Orchestra, Paolo Benvegnù, Morgan, Amari, Dente, The Niro, Cristina Donà, Marta sui Tubi, Amour Fou, I Cosi.. maybe Sanremo Big can be revived.
My mom was upset about the lackluster songs... and my dad fell asleep, Festival effect.. Reluctantly yes, this year it is forgettable.
