Second album by the American Miss Vanessa Anne Hudgens, made famous by the film High School Musical, very popular among the younger crowd, now at its third installment. Her first album, titled "V", deriving from the first letter of the word "Variety", hit the network taking everyone by surprise. A fitting choice of name, as she had not yet established herself as a singer and decided not to commit to a specific genre, oscillating between pop, techno-pop, and (alas), hip-hop.
After a two-year wait, unexpectedly, "Identified" is released, available in the USA from July 1, 2008.
The "young lady" doesn't hold back in terms of the number of tracks, a whopping fifteen, of which, in my opinion, only 3-4 are worthwhile. Hudgens in this album explores even more genres (apparently three years aren't enough to make up one's mind!). First single released with accompanying video: "Sneakernight".
A catchy, fast, sexy, and captivating track, with some trashy tendencies. Fair video, where, with Hudgens' participation, many kids from all over the world will sit for hours in front of the screen watching it until they are sick of it (speaking from personal experience).
It's undisputed that she drew inspiration for the video from her evening habits (try searching for Vanessa Hudgens on a search engine XD).
The tracks of the album deserve the following adjectives: repetitive, not very innovative, and similar to each other.
The album starts with "Last Night", a very very sexy song (oh? What do you expect? She’s grown up!). Then comes "Identified", the only innovative piece lyrically, but its rhythm is hard to catch. From here on, it seems Hudgens has left tracks just to make up the numbers, following a descending quality trajectory.
If we were to compare the two albums produced, we surely appreciated her better effort in the first one, unlike in the second, which is just a means to earn money, and nothing more. Ultimately, an album I would only recommend to fans and a younger audience (they don’t understand anyway).
PS_ She's way too hot.
