And here it is, the “solo project” of Andrea Bogartz, about which our friend had been giving us hints for quite some time. Finally, it's out, and it's an album quite distant from the styles of the Bogartz; here, there is a lot of acoustic guitar and many rhythms that are quite different from the parent band's schemes.

“Bring Me The Head Of Christopher Walken” has a bit of a soundtrack feel like “Pat Garret & Billy the Kid”, entirely instrumental with a “mariachi” pace that gives it a unique originality. “Dance Me To My Song” is a slow track where Ronnie Amichetti’s drums make an appearance; he produced the album and played the drums and percussion. A slow and mysterious piece, nocturnal, if you will. In “First Day Off” there are some Beach Boys-esque inserts, a track with a rhythm well supported by acoustic guitars and that resolves in the end with the entrance of drums, giving the piece a solid foundation. Another acoustic piece is “Waitin’ For You”, this time Andrea turns his attention to a light and decidedly catchy country tune, with beautiful mandolin and piano parts to spice it all up. “Stick It To Your Heart” is a brief insert where our friend has fun with megaphone and castanets (?), while “You Are Out Of Your Head” is another beautiful slow and acoustic piece, where the absolute skill on the instrument of the “man” (as Andrea refers to himself in press releases) is evident. With “Dry Queens”, an electric piece, a great rock track where ample space is left for guitar improvisations, we head towards the end, which arrives with “Champions League”, an ending with only bass, acoustic guitar, and vocals, quite nocturnal, as is the entire album ultimately.

Andrea has, therefore, decided to take a temporary break from the Bogartz and, judging by this first “solo project”, it seems to have done him good, the songs are excellent and worth listening to and downloading for free on the website quattroseiottorecordings
