THE REVIEW

Vampyric Sorcery is the one-man band of the Finn Kadëh (J. Laatikainen), already fully responsible for the projects Mrtás and Horre.

Recorded in solitude during the sunless autumn of the year MMXXV – year of Satan – the debut "Lauluja yöstä" is an LP that moves strictly along the most classic and raw atmospheric Black coordinates one could desire. An unashamedly lo-fi production that encloses within its crunchy yet snow-soft sonic shell all the diabolical allure of the vampyric Black Flame: following in the footsteps of acts such as Mütiilation, Satanic Warmaster and, of course, both for sound and compositional structures, the very earliest Burzum, especially for an enveloping and enchanting use of synths, in which undoubtedly those rarefied, mystical, almost sacred atmospheres play a key role, reminiscent of the Beherit of "Drawing Down the Moon" (1993). Similarly to the classic Dungeon synth of the first Mortiis and his projects from the same era (Fata Morgana, for example).

Kadëh, through his creature Vampyric Sorcery, succeeds in the feat of combining sonic nihilism with a bewitching harmonic taste, painting a sinister and unsettling fresco, soaked to the last note in the Dionysian intoxication of Evil.

May blood be with you: "Possessed by Black Fucking Metal".
