Emerging artist, not yet registered with SIAE, but already being talked about around Rome. He's not famous and all, but I wanted to write a review about his album “Sono io il fantasista”.
This album artistically represents his first step into the musical world, even though Franchi has been a prolific guy since he was a child.
The album incorporates various styles, moving from a progressive style like the first piece "sognando" to a more pronounced style like "l’uomo con la bomba a mano", then transitioning to a slightly lighter rhythm with the other tracks. This is an album that must be listened to, though unfortunately, the copies Valerio had have already been given away.
His pieces show hints of Ivan Graziani, Rino Gaetano, and that eclectic flair of Frank Zappa.
Valerio, a singer, composer, clarinetist, and pianist, has recently been creating more electronic and experimental works. This album can’t even be defined as pop; it is a “Home Made” project stemming from original sounds, samplers, and orchestrated with Cubase.
The sound is not yet at its peak, but if one digs deeper, one discovers that if performed live, these tracks are much better than what is generally heard around. The lyrics are sometimes rather silly, which is Valerio's strength, not giving too much importance to what he writes but allowing himself to be carried away by his own imagination, an example would be - Elio e le Storie Tese.
Thank you, Marco
