Valentina Amandolese - Nella Stanza degli Specchi (DCAVE Records)
Romanticism is synonymous with resistance to the new socio-economic order that was born in parallel with the transformation of the Age of Enlightenment, which roughly culminates in the storming of the Bastille and the beheading of the old monarchical regime. The fear of the abyss that has opened up acquires, in the perceptions of the arts in general, a questioning of the historical project that one wishes to build. Thus, in short, we can say that in its initial phase, it would appear vital and dialectical, if not even hyper-revolutionary, including the seeds of ideal visions that can be compared to those space-time vortices that change the vision of the world and the species.
Then, as always, things get complicated, and in the play of nemesis, the circle closes and one thing transforms into its opposite: the symbol of the TAO can suggest a synthesis.
In the phase of reflux and then decay, indeed, Romanticism becomes intimism; the sole place where one can jealously conserve the seeds carrying the vision of the new world. The result is a spiral into itself and consequently, more or less slow entropy that has extinction as its horizon.
Symbolic reminiscences remain, which are part of the so-called collective unconscious.
It's inevitable that the infinite anima connections that contain us in the great womb otherwise known as the cosmic infinite cause the reappearance in the play of manifest forms of déjà-vu, which have had crystalized light in synchronicity with sensitive souls that return to reaffirm the concepts experienced in other space-time lines.
Valentina Amandolese is a manifest act of what I alluded to above;
Even the most distracted of blind men would notice the obviousness of the evidence.
Kudos to her look-makers and brave is she to show herself in her truth as a very romantic woman: after all, what can "a poor girl" do if not play in a R&R band? That rascal Mick Jagger would say.
But Genoa is not London, and Valentina is not Mick. I prefer her because she is objectively, compared to the sulfurous jumpin' jack, a delicate balm that delights the eye and the ear.
Then we listen to the grooves of her inner tracks, her emotions as a romantic woman who has understood and embraced "the message of love" of the great Jimi deep in her heart: well done honey!
Certainly, still a dutiful and respectful nod to Daniele Grasso, who accepts within his range an obvious promise of quality: this delightful pearl that is the Genoese Valentina Amandolese. (I even rhyme!)
We will follow her with devoted admiration as lovers of beauty in its brightest and most substantial forms, supporting and admiring her as she grows in value and beauty.
These are not "little songs": they are truly something else!
