THE REVIEW

New work by Tygers of Pan Tang - Ambush - Released in September 2012.

On vocals, we have the very Italian Jacopo Meille. Great Jacopo. A voice that finally showcases the international value of an Italian Singer. There is a vocal personality that amazes from the first listen.

The entire album is of excellent workmanship. Clean sounds and especially a very fast Hard Rock.

The opening track - Keeping Me Alive - features a very classic guitar riff. And from the very first minutes, it's clear that the Tiger still roars. A catchy chorus with doubled vocals and mid-tempo to launch into the solo. The other tracks, with the same melodic line, are always enjoyable. Highlighted are the songs Man On Fire and Hey Suzie.

I won't bore you with discussions about NWOBHM. I am always pleased to hear new work with modern sounds from a band from the '80s.

Long live the Tigers...

Tygers of Pan Tang

Tygers of Pan Tang are a British heavy metal band formed in Whitley Bay in 1978 and one of the key names of the NWOBHM. Early albums Wild Cat (1980) and Spellbound (1981) cemented their reputation, aided by guitarist John Sykes and vocalist Jon Deverill. After more commercial turns on The Cage (1982) and later AOR-leaning releases, the band regrouped, returning to form with 2000s–2010s albums including Animal Instinct (2008), Ambush (2012), Tygers of Pan Tang (2016), and Ritual (2019), led by founding guitarist Robb Weir and vocalist Jacopo Meille.
