LA RECENSIONE

The Two Inch Astronaut are part of that little picture of the American East Coast, between grunge, math, and alt-rock/lo-fi, which I like very much. The band has released 4 albums in 5 years, showing a punk urgency and remarkable ease of writing.

Their goal over time has always been to manage to be post-hardcore (Jesus Lizard, Fugazi), maintaining a strong math imprint (Polvo), successfully converging everything towards emo-pop (Weezer); but don’t shy away from hearing the name of the Californians, the strong imprint is the one from DC.

The dynamics of the songs and the alteration of time are masturbatory and a hint of grunge is not disdained (Lure Coursing are practically the best Pearl Jam); a compact album, no more than 35 minutes, maybe everything has been heard before but do you remember the last confident band navigating these genres?
