All you need is love. The rest is an illusion, a world that doesn't exist.
An artist from another era, Robbi Robb. A free musician, alternative to the core, with a spiritual vision of the world around him. An artist who loves.
Perhaps his inspiration comes from the land he hails from, that South Africa battered by decades of apartheid, which, after a long and tortuous journey, began to glimpse the rainbow.
Inspiration has something to do with the spirit. It's the language of the subconscious, the infinite ocean within you. If you have it, you're alive; if you lose it, you're dead.
These are years of political and social changes, in South Africa and the world in general. Years of contamination and rediscovery, and Tribe After Tribe fully represents that period.
The group's style is a modern hard rock, drawing from grunge and blending it with raw effects and obsessive percussion that give an ethnic imprint to their sound.
A visionary music based on groove, rich in distortions, filtered voices, and driven by an insistent rhythm section.
“Pearls Before Swine” is the album that completes this vision. The sound that shakes our cages and makes the chains of our perceptions vibrate. A multifaceted album with a thousand colors that do not stop burning. From the tribal dances of “Boy” and “Lazarus”, to the splendid melodies of “Señor” and “I Am Your Heart”, passing through the retro atmospheres of “Murder On The Lee Shore” and “Ballad Of Winnie”. Tribe After Tribe never offers a weak side.
It's truly a shame to realize that Robbi Robb's creation unfortunately hasn't stood the test of time and has fallen into oblivion. We bring the past into the future every moment, never realizing that moment.
But somewhere, on the leeward shore, that sound remains alive.
Where the waves still roar.
