THE REVIEW

In short, our three heroes from Pordenone went on vacation to Jamaica and smoked a few too many joints.

Having reached an Olympic calm, Toffolo and his companions deliver this absolutely stunning album for those who know the group since their early days, but all in all, it's not bad. Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti have grown artistically and psychologically, adolescence is over. Influenced by the Jamaican sound, they first deceive us with an initial and almost classic "Ballata delle ossa", then they start shooting at us with offbeat guitars, also with moving and sophisticated lyrics such as those of "Puoi dirlo a tutti" or "La faccia della luna". The album is therefore full of hypnotic bass lines and percussion, enriched by a remarkable and more flexible voice of our beloved cartoonist/singer.

But does this turn towards Reggae work well or not? You decide. I am of the opinion that "Primitivi Del Futuro" is all in all a difficult but successful experiment, a way to avoid becoming a banal and repetitive band. Therefore, TARM remains my favorite cult group, also because they live just a stone's throw away from me, and they add this colorful chapter to their not bad discography.

Rating: 3.5 but I'm happy to round up.
