Finally a true death metal album!
After the latest disappointing works with the 'Six Feet Under', Chris Barnes has finally decided that perhaps it was better to take a reflective break and take the opportunity to play with Torture Killer.
Despite being a still little-known band (the idea started as a side project for Barnes), the album is a true masterpiece: 10 tracks of pure American death in the style of the 'Six Feet Under' of their best times with 2 guitars perfectly grinding riff after riff, the bass providing a perfect accompaniment, the drums not very fast but with excellent technique, and Barnes' voice that sounds like it comes from the throat of someone long dead.
An album that is worth every penny and will serve as a balm for those who have not been satisfied with the latest releases from SFU and who are waiting for their (hopefully) better return with a new CD. In the meantime, this album represents the first step of a band that will likely become one of the best in the global death metal scene.
