"Sublime" is a psychological thriller directed by Tony Krantz, producer of the TV series "24" and the beautiful "Mulholland Drive" by Lynch.
The film takes place in the hospital where George Grieves, on the day after his fortieth birthday, must undergo surgery. Initially, everything seems to be going well, until George starts noticing excessive sweating on his right shoulder and a stitched-up opening on his spleen. For him, it will be the beginning of a nightmare.
Nothing is as it seems in this film where reality and fantasy merge, creating confusion but at the same time engaging the viewer. During its 105 minutes, we let ourselves be carried by Krantz in this fascinating experience, intent on following the story until the end.
A notable strength of the film is that it evolves without losing pace, even though it takes place almost entirely in the same location, and in this, the director excels. Also noteworthy is the truly convincing acting by all the actors.
The plot is quite original, so even just for this, it deserves a viewing, given that lately, we haven't seen many distinctive plots in this genre of films.
Let yourself be carried away by the viewing of this film, and pay attention to every single sentence because otherwise, you might risk reaching the end of the film with the sensation of not having understood it fully.
"Sublime" is certainly one of the best releases in its genre in recent years and undoubtedly deserves much more attention.
