First solo album for Tom Keifer. The voice and leader of Cinderella, with whom he released beautiful albums like "Long Cold Winter" or "Still Climbing". "Still Climbing" is actually the last studio album from "Cinderella" released way back in 1994. The idea of releasing a solo album emerged in Keifer's mind in 2003, but the usual vocal cord issues delayed the project. Tom Keifer is undoubtedly one of the greatest artists in the rock world. A beautiful voice, rough, raspy, and sometimes delicate like no other, a great guitarist, and above all, an outstanding composer. He himself produces and writes all the tracks on the album, also assisted by his wife who co-produced the work. Critics have described this work as a mix between "Cinderella" (obviously), "Rolling Stones," and "Aerosmith". That alone should be enough to buy the album without hesitation. Fourteen tracks for just under an hour of great music.

The opening is entrusted to "Solid Ground". The scream that Keifer places at the beginning of the song immediately dispels any doubts about his voice. The song is accompanied by a very nice riff and a stunning chorus. "It's Not Enough" has a typical "Cinderella" rhythm, while in the beautiful "Cold Day in Hell" it feels like listening to the "Stones". "Thick in Thin" instead is a beautiful ballad, where Keifer's voice moves every time it's heard. "Welcome to my Mind" is the track that is most influenced by a modern sound, but the result is amazing, one of the best tracks on the album. The "Title track" is enjoyable to listen to, while "Babylon" closes this great album more than worthily. In my opinion, the album faces a slight slowdown in the middle. Tracks like "The Flower Song" and "Fools Paradise" do not reach the level of the other tracks.

The first thing that comes to mind as soon as "Babylon" ends is to press "play" again on the player. An album like this hasn't been heard in years, in my opinion one of the best releases of the last ten years. Resisting Keifer's voice is almost impossible. For those who, like me, loved (and still love) "Cinderella", listening to the album is almost a must, almost a dive into the past. The album also features Jeff LaBar, (Cinderella's guitarist), in the magnificent "Mood Elevator".

To listen to and listen to again.
