If I hadn't heard it, I wouldn't have believed it. Who, indeed, chooses to play pure singer-songwriter music, the kind from the Italian '60s, in 2022? The answer is Tiziano Spillari. This man from Verona has decided to set his emotions to music. And in this, singer-songwriter music, along with a certain folk approach, helps quite a bit! The wonderful thing is that, despite the successful arrangements, the voice stands out strong and clear. So the opener Il tarlo, which focuses precisely on the anxious ticking of time, is followed by a track like Precipitosamente, where the artist recalls the rush of achievement that permeates youth. And he does this already highlighting that musically the album is varied, following Spillari's sensitivity as its only path. There is also Nel profilo del silenzio, in which he commemorates a dear friend who died too soon and missed some opportunities for true happiness. Social visions are not lacking either, as happens in Senza un perché (where he sings "But can't you see how soon it gets dark"), as well as the dreamy memories of Era il nostro tempo. In short, an album full of insights, both instrumental and vocal. An unexpected surprise, and for this reason, even more appreciated.
