The year was 2000. The new millennium had finally arrived, taking away the indecisions, choices, and life moments of the previous year, or rather, the previous century. The year 2000 is a very important year as it marks the success of one of the most interesting bands in the Italian music scene: Tiromancino. The Roman group, having reached the Sanremo Festival with the song "Strade", won over the public and critics with La Descrizione Di Un Attimo, an intense and innovative album in which the sweet and seductive notes of the Italian melody perfectly coexist with the intricate electronic landscapes of the international scene.
This fifth work opens with "Il Peggio Non E' Tranquillo", in which the initial strings blend with the muted electronic notes and accompany the singer's whisper, eventually leading to a shriek that elevates to a profound howl, similar to the rooted discomfort of Federico Zampaglione. It then continues with "Strade", an unforgettable track, in which the metropolitan dawn made of memories is described in a melancholic way, projecting consciousness into a distant past.
Memorable pieces also include: "La Descrizione Di Un Attimo", the beautiful title track, characterized by a captivating melody and beautiful words, a sort of musical poetry, and "Due Destini", whose intense and evocative lyrics naturally reach the listener's heart. But just when the sweet and refined melody of Tiromancino takes over, "La Distanza" comes in, a hypnotic and dreamlike piece that, dealing with the theme of solitude, induces anxiety and suspension. Also noteworthy are "Muovo Le Ali Di Nuovo", an ode to joy and life, and "So", where the presence of distorted guitars evokes the strength of an indissoluble love, capable of resisting time.
La descrizione di un attimo is a pearl, a precious jewel, capable of enchanting at first listen, when small problems are left outside, one lets oneself be enveloped by the depth of the notes and words and is transported into the ocean of time.
