Can music be united with poetry? Many try, few succeed. The Tiromancino project was founded in 1989 by lead singer Federico Zampaglione, who, with his way of conceiving music, never in a conventional and static manner, but always in search of sounds and standards that go far beyond the song form, heavily influences what the band would become in the future.
"Tiromancino" (1992), "Insisto" (1994), "Alone alieno" (1995), and "Rosa spinto" (1997) are their first attempts to emerge in the Italian music scene without ever compromising with the most banal pop. In 2000, they produced "La descrizione di un attimo," their first major success, which allowed them to gain a good number of admirers and fans fascinated by the ideas proposed by the Roman band. Their success grows, and the trio releases the subsequent album "In continuo movimento" in 2002, which confirms the good work done in the first album.
The genre proposed by the band is a fusion of acoustic pieces with electronic beats and psychedelic and melancholic sounds. The single "Per me è importante" was an enormous success, and I still consider it one of the most beautiful Italian songs. This leads to yet another highly stylish Tiromancino album, "Illusioni Parallele," proving that they are not a fleeting phenomenon but an affirmed reality on our scene. This "95-05" is nothing but a greatest hits collection that gathers the best of the band from the past ten years. For those who do not yet know Tiromancino, it might be useful to purchase it as a taste of this wonderful band, which, as already mentioned, has combined delicate and nostalgic music with wonderful, never banal lyrics, simply poetry. Just think of songs like "Della stessa materia dei sogni", "Imparare dal vento", "I giorni migliori", "La terra vista dalla luna", the rocking "È necessario", the melancholic "La distanza", and many others, to realize that this band has deserved its success without ever falling into the commercial trap, always offering something new and innovative.
A round of applause for Tiromancino and their great career, with the hope that it continues and always yields its best fruits!
Tiromancino draws the listener into their own parallel world, enveloped in melancholy and disorientation.
Overall, listening to the two discs can be challenging, as it transitions from light (yet enjoyable) radio-friendly tracks to tracks embracing more electronic and psychedelic sounds.
