Deadpool, the talkative mercenary, arrives in theaters. Played by Ryan Reynolds with direction by Tim Miller (a debutant former fx technician), it definitely finds a wide audience. The film is something decidedly new as a superhero movie; severed heads and spraying blood, along with plenty of risqué jokes, and even bare breasts!.

Like his comic book counterpart, Deadpool knows he is an invented character, and the entire film acts as a dialogue towards the audience in which the protagonist continuously breaks the fourth wall, jokes about the film's low budget, makes gags about the actor's career, and takes jabs at other heroes.

But Deadpool is also about love. Here, his love is portrayed by Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), and like in every love story, in the end, Wade/Deadpool has to run to save her.

Probably the best Marvel film so far, a wonderful mix of genres, highly recommended for fans! Make sure you don't bring very young children; I saw a woman having to leave the theater because her small child was crying uncontrollably.

Oh, and don't miss the post-credit scenes!
