The spider hides its figure behind tricks, waiting for the right moment to strike its prey, then waiting for it to consume itself as flesh is consumed. Today called "Tid", it weaves its alchemy with the use of post-hardcore, progressive-metal, and doom. It waits for the unwary listener who approaches, persuades him, before entwining him with its music: its web.
You stagger through the first two minutes of "Synvända" which more than an intro resembles the cosmic cadence of a changing universe, a gigantic web from which you cannot escape, you are already entwined. Their sounds are dark but expanded, with a keyboardist suggesting the changing universes. Alchemical spiders that spit venom, a 2007 sonic venture challenging the most polished labels of the sector, promoting themselves to the public with the solution "download and judge".
A screaming, tormented voice overlaid on slow rhythms, where hints of electronics peek out to color the most distant cosmoses. A meticulous work, detailed in its study, in the song's structure (where doom sounds mix with progressive exploration), in the excellently executed melodies, in the keyboards. A web capable of enchanting the most sensitive palates. Arpeggios clearly with a "post" matrix attacked by poisonous screaming that seems to urge you: << don't move, listen: your flesh rots while the cosmos enjoys spinning around the indefinite>>
The album is not particularly long and, perhaps, it's a good thing: it would be easy to fall into repetition in such work. In some ways as glacial as "Isis" can be, the "Tid" emerge from the Swedish underground presenting themselves to the public with style and intelligence. My ears thank them wholeheartedly
