LA RECENSIONE

This is one of those albums that, while not a masterpiece, keeps playing in the stereo without stopping! Yes, because with this "Impulsive Assault," Throne of Molok has created a devastating mix that is hard to get tired of!

The Sicilian band does not have great artistic ambitions, does not have baroque compositions, and does not even pretend to be cerebral or innovative. They just have a great desire to punch listeners in the face with their music, and that's exactly how we like Throne of Molok! Their music is a perfect blend of a blasphemous Black Metal attitude and typically Death-like sonic violence, all combined with a sonic drive inspired by the best Slayer and sprinkled with a touch of radical electronics. The result is fifteen tracks concentrated in less than forty minutes, each shard lasting just over two minutes that leaves no room and shows no mercy! The beauty of "Impulsive Assault" is that it manages to have a devastating sound without flaunting a fake overblown production and without all the usual devices, but instead is genuinely brutal and uncompromising. Throne of Molok has no need to engage in absurdly fast tempos born of the darkest modern musical trends, as their impact derives from a vaguely old-school lesson where it is the spot-on riffs and the metronome set at the right tempo that create all the sonic violence!

If you are looking for an elegant and sophisticated Black Metal album, stay away from "Impulsive Assault". But if what you crave is brutality and devastation, this is the album for you!
