Thomas Fehlmann was born in Switzerland. He began dedicating himself professionally to music after meeting Robert Fripp in 1979, experimenting with synths and samplers in 1985, and producing ambient house after meeting Alex Paterson of the Orb in 1989.
"good fridge" contains works, mostly unreleased, produced in the period between 1990 and 1998; all classifiable under the ambient label and reminiscent of the experiments produced with the Orb in that unfortunate period following "UF Orb".

A word contained in the title perfectly describes the effect of this CD: Flowing. This album flows.

Making a bold (but not too much) connection with the world of literature, we could compare it to the work of James Joyce and see the "stream of consciousness technique" applied to music, as if it were the first time.
Just like "Ulysses", in fact, this album is cerebral and complex (and also extremely boring if you are looking for something emotionally rewarding).

Probably the point of view to adopt to appreciate it is not emotion; perhaps we should play it in an airport waiting room or use it as a soundtrack for a lunar landing.
Even from this point of view, however, Fehlmann's music fails, not possessing the evocativeness of Brian Eno's ambient masterpieces.
But then, does "good fridge" have a purpose or not?
Boh, honestly I don't think so, although perhaps its beauty should be this.
Whatever you think of Fehlmann, in any case, don't call him "ciccibucci". Those who listen to "good fridge" will understand.
