"Be Disappointed" translates to "essere delusi." Disappointment. A rather common feeling. One wonders if it's possible to be disappointed by this album. Answer: a no as big as a house. No disappointment, not even a little. Drops in rhythm? Not a chance.
Tracks that serve as fillers? As if. This album goes beyond Melodic hc, This Is A Standoff are fresh, highly technical, and engaging. This is Hypnotic Melodic Hardcore Punk straight from Canada, which in these years stands out with bands like Propagandhi, now legendary, Belvedere (from whose ashes This Is A Standoff was formed), Comeback Kid, High Five Drive, Mute, and others, against some of the biggest musical disasters that I won't even name (Two hints: one is a very big punk and the other is a dwarf in a full hormonal crisis, unfortunately killed only in a pretense by the dark lord Cthulhu in an episode of South Park). So, Be Disappointed presents an additional improvement of the band compared to the debut. An album that is nothing short of hypnotic, enchanting with its riffs, its incredibly engaging rhythms, and the excellent instrumental technique of the four, perfectly intertwined with the splendid voice of Steve Rawles, not much highlighted in Belvedere. The first 5 tracks, capable of making us stare at a random point in the void, throwing us into a state of trance (of which I should at least mention "The Light Is Still On Broadmoor" and "Graveyards"), are followed by "Sunrise," a instrumental piece that splits the work in half, waking us up, before we fall back into hypnosis with the wonderful "Face The Sun" and other not at all disappointing tracks like "Go With Me" and "Trails Of White". Disappointment and This Is A Standoff do not know each other and cannot coexist in the same sentence.
