They have now reached their third album (and the term album is appropriate, as it has been released in a double vinyl + CD version). It's particularly pleasing to see the vinyl release, which moreover highlights the splendid cover, and besides, the vinyl edition sounds much better than the CD one.
"Screaming Luke" Ducoli and Frederick Micheli offer an album that should be listened to at full volume, without too many questions, and preferably in one go.
It's not even worth getting too lost in explanations about this album that features the two artists in great form; both the title and the cover of the album are a clear reference to Jimi Hendrix and his most important album, while their music is openly directed towards Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.
Among the nine tracks, the only one that seems to let you "catch your breath" a bit is the Lou Reed-esque "Nico's Banana", the rest is a thunderous explosion of sounds and fun, sharply delivered rhythms. Guitars dirty just right, wild vocals, and, although with some small melodic openings, plenty of grit and healthy rock'n'roll spirit.
