The Theatres des Vampires are an Italian band from Rome, which debuted (aside from a demo) with Vampyrisme…, an album with a clear black connotation à la Mercyful Fate.
After some truly fascinating albums, I became intrigued by this Nightbreed of Macabria, where the group has completed its metamorphosis, now absolutely traveling on Gothic tracks (by their own admission), adding an extra touch of originality.
Despite not having a sky-high budget, these seven members give their best, and they succeed. Vocalists Lord Vampyr and Scarlet are extraordinary, the album is imbued with theatricality and magnificence truly remarkable, as well as a great variety.
The album flows wonderfully, it's not that hard to find and is reasonably priced. It has all it needs to match the extraordinary sales of Suicide Vampire.
One standout song: The Undertaker & The Crow which alone is worth the CD (not that the others are unworthy, of course).
It might be slightly inferior to Bloody Lunatic Asylum (a true masterpiece of Gothic-Black-Dark-Symphonic Metal), but the current setting is still remarkable, and the album deserves to be purchased.
I would like to add that on the official website www.theatres-des-vampires.com, there is very useful information as well as numerous carefully selected mp3s that introduce you to the world of TDV and a chat section. I would like to focus on the latter, because almost every day -after lunch- the vampirella Scarlet is present, very friendly!! But be careful... the guy is jealous!

From the first listen, I found them to be contrived, constructed at the table and engaged in fields where others have tread more effectively.
Musically the work flows well, but it doesn’t offer any special sensations, except one: that of finding oneself almost more in front of the soundtrack of a Tim Burton movie.
