The Teen Idles

The Teen Idles were an American hardcore punk band from Washington, D.C., active from 1979 to 1980. Lineup included Nathan Strejcek (vocals), Geordie Grindle (guitar), Ian MacKaye (bass) and Jeff Nelson (drums). Their Minor Disturbance EP and the Anniversary reissue are key recordings.

Their Minor Disturbance EP was issued via Dischord Records; the band is widely regarded as an influential early act in the Washington D.C. hardcore scene. Ian MacKaye and Jeff Nelson later co-founded Minor Threat.

Short-lived Washington D.C. hardcore band active 1979–1980. Key releases include the Minor Disturbance EP and the Anniversary reissue with improved audio. Highly influential on the D.C. punk scene and foundational to Dischord Records.
