I put on "Indiana Line" and can't believe my ears... I go check the date on the album cover... 2006! So it must be a reissue! No, because it's not possible; no one plays like this nowadays: the delta blues meets southern rock on the road to the Rio Grande.
This trio has shamelessly called itself Steepwater Band!
Get it? A band like the Allman Brothers were, or Sheriff Tucker's, and even Charlie Daniels'. I can't hold back a tear, for too long I had been waiting for something like this and now I'm moved. The spirit is the same, slightly harder but sparkling like the anachronistic spurs jingling from boots pounding the streets of Chicago.
These three will wreak havoc on your system, making your guitar kick the bucket multiple times, drawing blues from their holsters that will knock you out at first hit, shattering that piece of flesh in your chest with electric ballads that make Uncle Tupelo or Wilco blush.
I want nothing more, there's not a shadow of a single drop in tone throughout the entire album. Forget about that vintage nonsense of Kings of Leon; this is the real deal.
Brand your cattle with the Steepwater Band logo, they will thank you for it.
