The Stalin is a Japanese punk band led by Michiro Endo, prominent in the early 1980s for its confrontational name and influential role in Japanese punk music.

Founded by Michiro Endo; name deliberately references Joseph Stalin and was controversial; widely regarded as a formative act in Japanese punk; moved toward a hardcore sound in later releases.

Marco Orsi's DeBaser review celebrates The Stalin's 1982 album Stop Jap as a raw, provocative landmark of Japanese punk. The review highlights tracks such as "Romanticist", the title track, "Money" and the paranoid closing "Warusahawa No Genso", notes a 2003 reissue with covers of "Light My Fire" and "No Fun", and records the band's later move toward hardcore.
