I have to thank my music-addicted friend who slipped this CD into my car stereo.

What can I say... I found myself on a magic carpet, the musical notes rising like bubbles in a fizzy drink. Colorful confetti and clouds shaped like elephants.

The Smoking Trees, a mysterious group from Los Angeles, "Acetates"—a stunning record from 2013.

We are in the 60s, in the middle of a psychedelic trip, colorful shirts and glasses with blue lenses. On the stereo, July, Tomorrow, Zombies, Dantalion's Chariot, Kinks, Blossom Toes, Donovan, Beatles are playing.

We are in the 2000s, the Brian Jonestown Massacre craft strange colorful candies, after a long session in an opium den.

The music, the melodies are wrapped in a highly lysergic cloud. The sounds get lost, bounce, and fly away. It's a continuous reverb, a colorful vibration, echoes, noises, voices emerge from nowhere. They come and go.

Exoticism, sitar, India as imagined after a healthy smoke, percussion, guitars recorded in reverse.

what can I say... beware of friends addicted to music
