The Sallyangie was a short-lived English folk duo of siblings Mike and Sally Oldfield who released the album Children of the Sun in 1969.

Members: Mike Oldfield and Sally Oldfield. Mike Oldfield later achieved international fame (notably for Tubular Bells); Sally Oldfield pursued a solo recording career.

A dreamy, fairy‑tale folk album led by Sally Oldfield's high, gentle voice and Mike Oldfield's acoustic guitar. Praised for tracks like "River Song" and arrangements by David (Dee) Palmer. Considered charming though imperfect, evoking sixties folksinger storytelling.

For:Fans of 1960s folk, listeners of pastoral/acoustic music, Mike Oldfield and Sally Oldfield collectors.

It's not for everyone. And it's certainly not perfect. But it is a tribute to storytellers, to the folksingers of the sixties who have gone out of fashion or just a little less trendy who love stories of ghosts, gloomy banquets on the water, and enchanted maidens on the castle walls.
