"For this gem of pure music, Joe Jackson has returned and reinvented himself fivefold."

From the ashes of the talented This Day & Age from Buffalo, N.Y., and with only one lineup change, The Reign Of Kindo is born. By deciding to expand their musical horizons, they unequivocally change direction, moving from a decidedly more pop/progressive sound to a jazz/pop hybrid as engaging as it is creative.

A few months after the birth of their musical project, their first work, a self-titled EP, was released on August 21st, consisting of six evocative tracks, in a perfect blend of melody, power, and class.

An album pervaded by an aura of enjoyable relaxation and endowed with a non-formal elegance: try to let yourself be lulled by the nighttime tranquility of "Set The Stage, Cue The Music", the trumpet of "Hard To Believe", the deep dynamic charge of "Needle & Thread" and "Just Wait", the sweet oblivion of "Do You Realize", the excellent vocal orchestration of "One Man Parade". All of this is entirely supported by the great piano performance of Kelly Sciandra and the beautiful voice of Joseph Secchiaroli, who recall more than anything else the extraordinary Joe Jackson (the one from "Night and Day" and "Body and Soul" which I haven't listened to for too long).

The quintet in question is composed of impeccable musicians, and thanks to a refined writing ability, they have left us a mark on their great potential (even live). So let's enjoy this exquisite fusion appetizer, eagerly awaiting the real work scheduled for the early months of next year, and for those who do not love jazz (but this isn't), now with The Reign Of Kindo, you'll certainly be closer.

Regards, Addison.
