THE REVIEW

No, it didn't shock me; and for those of you who already know them well enough, I avoid comparisons.

Of course, the beginning gave me hope, with its typical enveloping and captivating sounds: notes worthy of being the keepers of our memories; and these Swedes seem to have understood the magic recipe. Then the second song; then the third; then the fourth and... even the fifth, that one is like the others too.

Repetition is beneficial, many say that now. It is pleasant to dedicate personal time to an object, as well as to a person; like a beautiful girl, or an unmissable guy, this record deserves everyone's attention. What's missing, then? Well, the explosion is missing, the shiver on the skin, some thoughts in the head (in this, the work is penalized only by its length): but it's an EP, a taste.

Perhaps the decisive test will come later? At this point, the paths diverge, between those who adore them and those - yes, but not so much. To the former I recommend two things: wait and share.

Also because, as Oscar Wilde said: "what good is anything you keep just to yourself".

Summary by Bot

The Radio Dept's EP 'This Past Week' offers captivating, memory-evoking sounds typical of the Swedish band. However, the reviewer finds the songs somewhat repetitive and lacking a strong emotional spark. The EP serves as a tasteful preview but leaves the listener hoping for more dynamic developments in future releases. Fans are encouraged to be patient and share the experience.
