Good evening Debaser friends. WARNING: I am writing this review in a feverish state, so please forgive my ravings in it, which I will probably reread tomorrow and regret having written, but I absolutely have to tell you about this album, because at another moment I wouldn't have the courage. As you good guys might have guessed from the title, we are talking about "Going to Hell" by The Pretty Reckless, a band led by the singer/model/actress Taylor Momsen (I think that's how it's spelled, if it's wrong, never mind, it's not worth checking). Yet, this album is not as terrible as my rating might suggest. More than that, THIS ALBUM IS AN EXHIBITION OF USELESSNESS AND ANONYMITY (can you say anonymity in this case? I hope so). There's not a single song that doesn't get boring after a minute of listening, and even the slightly more interesting hints (see "Fucked Up World," which in the single version is titled "Messed Up World (F'd Up World)". No comment.) reek of déjà vu in an alarming way (you know the smell of fish when you leave it out of the fridge for three months? Well, that's a delightful scent compared to the stench of dried shit that emanates from this record). Now let's ignore the musical side of this album (exactly as The Pretty Reckless did) and talk about what allowed this album to achieve some success: the music videos. These feature the lovely Taylor appearing half-naked and pretending to kiss other women. Don't mistake me for a prude: in the absence of a girlfriend, I, if necessary, rely on porn, but certainly not on some filthy low-budget videos where at most you can see a nipple, to get excited (as some horny metalheads do, who enter a vegetative state at the mere mention of the word "ovary"). And that's it. Nothing to add, seriously. I even refuse to reread the review to edit it. Now I'll go watch Regular Show. Thanks for reading this awful review. Aloha.
