The Pigs & the Jellyfish

Musical Group

A live pairing documented on DeBaser that paired the historic Bristol punk band The Pigs (described in the review as a 1977 presence) with Civitavecchia's Jellyfish, a local band revisiting late 70s–early 80s British material.

From the DeBaser review: The Pigs are described as a historic Bristol punk band, with Kit Gould leading; three-quarters of the old lineup were present. The review names drummer Ricky Galli and bassist Paolo Mastrandrea (Italian). Songs mentioned: "Youthanasia", "They say", "Psychopath", "National front". The Jellyfish performed covers by XTC, Joe Jackson, Julian Cope and David Bowie.

A DeBaser review of a 2012 Civitavecchia bill pairing Bristol punk veterans The Pigs with Civitavecchia's Jellyfish. The Pigs revisit 70s punk material led by Kit Gould; the set was short (45 minutes) but evocative. The Jellyfish performed British-influenced covers and engaged the audience.

For:Fans of 1970s Bristol punk, collectors of punk revival shows, readers of live music reviews.

Very little punk, despite the large number, the audience gathered at the Little Paradise in Civitavecchia on the 7th for the second live concert in Italy of the historic Bristol band the Pigs.
