The New Christs are the creation of bassist Jim Dickson, formerly of the "Barracudas," and singer Rob Younger, formerly of "Radio Birdman," an Australian cult band and the first to take the baton left by the Stooges, authors of that Radios Appear masterpiece of the legendary '70s.

The New Christs continue on the path of the Birdman, so rock uncompromising and raw like almost all Australian bands. Distemper was released in '89, and until then the band had only released singles. The album is definitely one of the best of the period, as usual with fiery rhythms, accelerations, fantastic melodies—ten tracks in total without any drop in tension. Of course, no one will pay attention to them, after all, it's '89.

In any case, one of those albums that once heard, often returns to the player without ever boring, and to be cherished jealously among masterpieces like Radios Appear and Living Eyes.

"Distemper is the epitome of the rock we love: the kind made of blood, sweat, and dust."

"Rock never died, because we are alive and for it to die, people like Sting will have to step over our dead bodies."
