Strength In Numbers

Strength in numbers.... and it's really worth saying that this new The Music CD has a great strength in numbers, also because it's their third album, and three is a perfect number...

An excellent British band, with the first CD "The Music" somewhat considered the current heirs of Led Zeppelin, both for Robert Harvey's voice and for Adam Nutter's guitar sound.

With the second CD "Welcome To The North", they went slightly unnoticed, but it was a very good predecessor to the first CD, making it clear that, even if young, these guys know how to make good music.

Now in 2008, there's little left of Led Zeppelin, but with the third studio work, produced by Flood (already producer of U2, Nick Cave, Killers) and former Orbital Paul Hartnoll, it results in a more electronic and pop work, with beautiful rock nuances. Certainly a CD that is more easily accessible, but which in any case does not let us forget that these "new" musicians from the British sphere still have something to say (listen to believe the instrumental ghost song on the twelfth track "Inconceivable Odds"... 7 min and 51" of pure energy made of electronics and rock, with vague old U2 and Pink Floyd flavors: exhilarating) and it's true that the album itself moves with more "dance" sounds especially in the first part of the CD ("Strength in numbers", "The Spike" and "Drugs") but it's also true that there are gems that will slowly get into your head such as "The Left Side", "The Price (bonus track on the English version CD along with "The Rain"), "Get Through It", "No Weapon Sharper Than Will" and then the beautiful "Vision" and "The Last One" with 80s electronic rock atmospheres, and "Cold Blooded" a mid-tempo of great pathos...

A CD to have, to hear how English music offered by various Oasis, Coldplay, U2 can evolve...
