A Houston-based 1960s garage/psychedelic band fronted by Bill (Billy) Gibbons, best known for the album Flash and the single "99th Floor"; Gibbons left in 1969 to form ZZ Top.

Origin: Houston, Texas. Frontman: Bill (Billy) Gibbons. Style: garage rock, psychedelic rock with hard-blues elements. Notable releases: the album Flash and the single "99th Floor". Gibbons joined Dusty Hill and Frank Beard to form ZZ Top in 1969. The band enjoyed regional success in Texas and is frequently compared to Jimi Hendrix and the 13th Floor Elevators in contemporary reviews.

Houston's The Moving Sidewalks are presented as a short-lived but influential 1960s psychedelic/garage band. Their album Flash and the single "99th Floor" are frequently praised for Hendrix-like guitar, organ, fuzz and proto-punk energy. Fronted by Bill (Billy) Gibbons, the group ended when Gibbons joined Dusty Hill and Frank Beard to form ZZ Top in 1969.
