The Morning Benders

The Morning Benders are an American indie rock/pop band from Berkeley, California, led by Christopher Chu. Their second album Big Echo (2010) was co-produced by Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear. The band later adopted the name POP ETC.

Origin: Berkeley, California. Debut album: Talking Through Tin Cans (2008). Big Echo (2010) co-produced by Chris Taylor (Grizzly Bear). Later changed name to POP ETC.

A mixed-critical review of Big Echo: strong production and individual moments ("Excuses", "Promises") but an overall lack of personality. The album is linked to Grizzly Bear via producer Chris Taylor. Rating: 2/5.
