LA RECENSIONE

From Los Angeles here are the Knives debuting with "Boy Thursday", a nice little bomb of rap, punk, and hard rock.

Nothing remarkably new, to be clear, for an album with rather marked references and echoes, primarily and by far to fellow citizens Rage Against The Machine. But nonetheless, "Boy Thursday" spins really well, compact and powerful from start to finish, seamlessly alternating between rhythmic and tight sounds to sharper and more abrasive ones. In this alternation, the performance of vocalist Mr. J. Medeiros is commendable, skilled in transitioning from rhymes & metrics to vocally uncontrolled moments driven solely by anger and fury.

As an entrée, I would suggest "Sucker Punch" and "Wylin Inside", but the entire "Boy Thursday" deserves attention and respect.

Great little album!
