British electronic duo formed by Bill Drummond and Jimi (Jimmy) Cauty, known for influential late-80s/early-90s releases that mixed acid house, ambient and pop elements.

Worked for Stock Aitken & Waterman before forming the project. Authored "The Manual" (as The Timelords). Collaborated with Alex Paterson on Chill Out. Notable 1992 Brit Awards performance with Extreme Noise Terror and subsequent announcement that "The KLF have now left the music industry". Deletion of their communications/catalog is reported in contemporary accounts. Wax Trax handled US distribution of some releases.

Two DeBaser reviews celebrate The KLF's blend of acid house, ambient techno and pop. Chill Out is praised as a flowing ambient collage; The White Room as a high-energy, genre-mixing album. Both reviews highlight the band's influence on late-80s/early-90s UK electronic music.

For:Fans of electronic music, ambient techno, acid house and 90s rave nostalgia

Chill Out is indeed an album that should be allowed to flow, a sort of "Music for airports" for DJs and young listeners.
