Perhaps it's the return of the mythical Slash with his second solo CD, or maybe it's his love for the voice of Myles Kennedy, the unmistakable vocalist of the much-appreciated Alter Bridge, that has spawned in the minds of these four young individuals an American Hard Rock that's oddly Italian?

Great debut for The Kins, young and talented, who perhaps make the mistake of recording in two languages (English and Italian). "White Rose" is certainly a work from a promising band, with many ideas, and perhaps too few "recording means" at their disposal. The demo includes three direct tracks, two in English and one in Italian. I would say a good result, and an excellent entry into an underground scene as intricate as it is rich with overlooked names. We remember the great success of the song "White Rose" which obviously gives its name to the studio work, and in its 5-minute duration represents the real essence of this band. Or how could we not mention "Save me", a song as sweet as it is psychedelic in its solo, always very "Slash-like" with a hint of Van Halen. Then there's "Black Soul" with the choice to give an English title to a song in Italian, if it weren't for the two solos by the two always very prepared guitarists, or perhaps the precision of the drummer, even if sometimes repetitive.

It's therefore a very valid instrumental part, even if sufficiently recorded, that frames a voice very much akin to Myles Kennedy, as well as Piero Pelù in his golden years. These are two very important names, but they will need to be kept in their own dream warehouse. All this, thanks to a necessary and progressive growth in the years to come. It remains, without a shadow of a doubt, a timbre that might be subtle, but with good live backing vocal support from its members, it can play its good game.

It is precisely the voice, then, along with some flashes of true modernity, that drives this Hard Rock band towards more of an Alternative Rock Audioslave style.

"White Rose" can be considered an important beginning, with significant future developments, perhaps in light of a full-length "with balls". This, in the opinion of the writer, dismissing the Italian language, which in this band somewhat disrupts the chemistry born between guitars, bass, and drums, seized by the voice.
