THE REVIEW

A woman moves frantically on stage, looks at her partner, then lowers her head again; perhaps she laments the disappearance of the opening act's drum set Scout Niblett - who also happen to be a couple - but in reality, she is drawing a magical circle to keep herself safe: tonight, demons are being summoned.

VV and Hotel, the excitement that permeates the two is similar to that of children who have discovered they can stay up late, let's see if between a mantra and a voodoo ritual Sister Ray might sneak in. The electronic drums do not make one miss a real drummer and contribute to the overall noise, especially if you're not fond of verse chorus verse.
The American doesn't sing but vibrates as if seized by seismic shocks, unlike the audience who, barring an earthquake of at least 6.5 magnitude, has decided to follow the service motionless while the Englishman aims the guitar at us like a machine gun but you can see he's firing blanks.
VV, with those hair over her face, has decided to take part in the next episode of The Ring, approaches the audience as if in a trance; her smile and eyes are only visible during the encore but by then even Romeo Town seems like a song; tonight, demons are being summoned, tomorrow exorcisms for everyone present. Goodnight.

Summary by Bot

The Kills’ 2005 live show at Estragon captures a raw and intense atmosphere as the duo summons dark energy on stage. VV’s mesmerizing presence and unique vocal style stand out despite a mostly motionless audience. The electronic drums add a distinct noise that replaces traditional rhythms. Overall, the performance evokes a ritualistic, almost supernatural feeling.
