THE REVIEW

The Roman band The Intellectuals began their journey in '99 as a duo that we could reductively define as Garage. Over the course of 3 releases, their offering was enriched by experimenting with new sounds, evolving from two members to a quartet and reaching their most complete and varied work with "In The Middle Of Darkwhere" in 2011, without losing the energy of their beginnings.

In 2011, they play a sort of Mutant Garage Punk, enhanced by spirited keyboards and rudimentary sci-fi electronic effects.

In 14 tracks, in 30 minutes, we savor the energy of classic GARAGE PUNK, the ROCKABILLY of the most frantic CRAMPS in "CHEAP RELIGION".

Intellectual echoes, from a raw No Wave in "FRANKENWRONG" to the guitar dissonances of "IN THE MIDDLE OF DARKWHERE".

Staggering ROCK'N'ROLL of "THIRSTY DINOSAUR", "LINES" that evoke the American Punk Noise of the 90s.

What about the classic 60s GARAGE PUNK of "TROPPO ODIO"?

An album to drink like a good shot all at once, without thinking too much, and just like with a shot, a quick encore is a must, letting yourself be intoxicated by a healthy rush of adrenaline.
