Debut album from the amazing Ormonauti, who already seem to have matured the simple yet virtuosic style that will always distinguish them. If during one of their concerts you can't help but jump around and get carried away by their energy, while listening to the CD you can appreciate the excellent technical quality of all the trio's members, primarily the Scottish "Italianized" Andy, vocalist and guitarist. But the rhythm section composed of Sasso Battaglia and Paolo "Pinna" Peddis is certainly no less.

The 12 songs are very varied and entertaining, almost all in a rockabilly key (or country rock in the case of "Hatuey"), but with a remarkable degree of originality even in the more "standard" rhythms. Fantastic are "Looser" and "That Man in Your Bed", in which the irony and fantastic arrangements reach, in my opinion, levels of excellence.

In today's Italian scene, the Hormonauts can undoubtedly be considered one of the best rock bands, and I hope that the passion and grit they put into their work can inspire many young bands and increase the international visibility of Italy, still fossilized, except for rare songwriter or experimental exceptions, on light music and old monuments that should be destined more for scrapping than restoration.
