THE REVIEW

IT IS NOT A SIN OF IMMODESTY... what drives the "Good Life" to title their first album "Album of the year," but a pronounced sensitivity that leads to appreciating all seasons of the year and thus dedicating a song to each month, and it's the same sensitivity that can be felt in the sounds and lyrics of the 12 tracks.

The group is a side project of Tim Kusher, guitar and vocals of "Cursive," from whom the album departs with very folk and pop rock atmospheres, intimate lyrics that speak of love stories. Tim uses his splendid voice over acoustic and electric guitar bases, piano, and subtle drums.
Every song develops a story, romantic, artistic, alcoholic, suspicious, a weave of lives, an exploration of memory... "Album of the year" Tim's voice opens the album with a Stipe-like approach and a pop-folk vein reminiscent of Billy Bragg, mandolin, wurlitzer, and keyboards, "Night and day" is a waltz that mixes accordion and wurlitzer, soft and welcoming, "You're no fool" the saxophone, under the voice, slightly jazzy and intrusive, film-like atmospheres, "Under a honeymoon" dreamy with slide guitar, as the name implies, "Inmates" Jiha Lee's seductive voice opens and then duets with Tim, acoustic guitar and bongos in the background, very sweet, perhaps the best track on the album, despite its 9 minutes, "Lovers need lawyers" a pleasant rock piece very English stirs the atmosphere, still melancholic, together with "Needy" and "Notes in his pocket".

"Album of the year" will guide your senses in new directions, it will extinguish the flame and rekindle it, leaving a scar on the soul and instilling a pleasant calm, full of normality... A truly BEAUTIFUL album, therefore, ROMANTIC and NOVELISTIC which is recommended to be paired with a good book. GOOD LIFE!

The Good Life

The Good Life is an American indie rock band formed as Tim Kasher's side project. Early releases were presented as Kasher's more intimate and eclectic songwriting work, with Novena On A Nocturn (noted in reviews) as a debut-era highlight.
