Well... the album deserves 3.5 but the somewhat haphazard cover lowers the average for me.
Dieter Sermens, that's the name of the handsome Belgian, hides behind the logo of this project, which is what you can expect from a non-epochal Morr album. In fact, more than pleasing to the ear, upon closer listening it proves to be rather derivative: the masterpiece by Notwist (let's not kid ourselves, I mean "Neon Golden") is not just around the corner, but it literally looms dark and menacing above the beautiful firmament of keyboards and electronic rhythms that TGF offers us.
Even Depeche Mode during their "Violator" and "Music For The Masses" era could be the godfathers of this album, provided they strip away that sense of epicness that sometimes seems indispensable for the British trio.
The lyrics (even though I could be more precise later) are also pleasantly pop (but here too Micha Acher could give lessons... it's no coincidence he's mentioned by name in the acknowledgments...)
However, there are some buts: Summer guest, Igloo, and Bleeding Heart are literally little gems that cannot escape those who love Notwist and Morr Music!
So, an excellent first effort my dear Dieter, but as they say in the weather forecast, with ample room for improvement: the raw material is there.
