THE REVIEW

A necessary introduction to my one hundred thirtieth review.

Today I was supposed to go to my beloved and necessary mountains; but a sudden and unexpected backache prevented me. There will surely be time again to climb the Pass of Monscera, which marks the border between the Bognanco Valley and the Canton of Valais. Limping around Domodossola, I meet Alessio; I take the opportunity to ask him: "Do you have something offensive that smells rotten, of clots of blood to lend me so I can relax and try to combat the pains in the sacral area?"

What I am about to describe is the result of my friend's musical loan.

Gerogerigegege: No Wave, Post Atomic Grind, Noise Core from Japan.

Relentless, hallucinatory, but also very entertaining (!!) the three Japanese. But they could be five or seven, even a dozen from the chaos they manage to create. Better to move on regarding the cover and title of the work.

Seventy-five harrowing shards in just over thirty minutes; very brief sonic bombardments. It should be recorded live because at some moments you hear some sparse applause; applause not of appreciation given the compressed, frightening, flesh-stripping tangle. Screams, martyred microphones and instruments saturated beyond any human limit of endurance; a horrendous sonic delirium.

At every change of track, the classic "one two three four" like the Ramones: it's the only understandable growl. The rest is a nightmare.

There are covers ("Satisfaction", "Boys Don't Cry", "Sheena is a Punk Rocker") played so chaotically as to make them indistinguishable from everything else.

"Fuck Off", "Fist Fuck", "Anal Boxing" some knowledgeable titles. However, "Anal Beethoven" is missing, and it is a noteworthy pity.

Like Naked City colliding with Napalm Death from Scum; but three times faster, fiercer and put through the mincer. Innards included.

We need more bands like this!!

We need more friends like this!!!!

The back shows no sign of improvement, not even the slightest. I have to put the CD back on from the start and let myself (re)submerge in these "musical garbages" (as Maestro Battiato would say).
