The Frozen Autumn: I feel proud of them. Yes, because we are faced with a Turin-based band led by the excellent electronic pioneer Diego Merletto, which manages to competently hold its own (if not often surpass) historical German and non-German bands in a genre atypical for our local scene such as EBM-DarkWave.
Fluidity: this stands out when listening, a perfect fluid flow of notes, melodies, synths, basses, and more, found in every track of the album.
The frozen autumn manages to turn the static cold of the eponymous track (Static Cold, masterpiece of the album) into a welcoming refuge for the dreams of the soul.
The love arc takes on epic tones in the second masterpiece, Guardian Angel, where the perfection in the assembly of the various sound parts is clearly noticeable: the main keyboard melody line in the verse is supported by a perfect atmospheric synth setup, up to the incredible chorus where the gentle keyboard line takes center stage, even (momentarily) over the low, resigned, and evocative voice of the previously mentioned singer/keyboardist.
The frozen autumn takes you by the hand and guides you towards a universe of often unexpressed and enclosed emotional loads and desires, but for this very reason, they are pulsating with vivid strength.
I also mention the splendid Polar Plateau, in which a strong sense of disorientation surrounds the sound design of the track, leaving the listener carried away to different emotional shores, accompanied by a gentle female voice.
Oneiric.
